Spring Has Sprung, ask JR Seaton?

Bluebells and daffodils,
humming drum and clarity,
bodytime and vacant ills:
It's springtime darling, can't you see?

JR Seaton eases us into spring with an amazing mix of bliss and beats.

Off Relish Records (Started by Robi Insinna - aka Headman and Manhead) and currently living in Berlin, where he runs the fortnightly NUKK NUKK parties and the record label Nocturnes. Seaton finds it difficult to take boundaries seriously despite the impact they may have on peoples lives and understandings (be it the real ones between nations, or the imaginary ones between musical styles).

"I like stuff that I can see, touch, or engage with - synthesizers, records, and forceful expressions of anger or pain. I like dust, mess and mistakes."

Seaton grew up primarily in London and has hung his hat in the likes of Glasgow and Andalucia. While continuing to write music and dj he is very interested in the spaces between ideas and understandings...deep shit for ser!

"I get excited by people who take a risk with their work and have some kind of vision. I love a lot of different stuff and like to sit between contrasting places and feelings. It's the tension between these things that keeps things interesting."

No More Pop takes you on a journey to the lesser explored regions of the electronic grid. Frequently engaging us with layer upon layers of swirling synths and ambient soundscapes. Grab your iPod, pick up a tallboy, and let JR take you on an odyssey...It's beautiful for fuck's sake??!

Crystal Fighters

French fashion and music label Kitsuné boasts a lengthy laundry list of electro indie rock giants, among them Boys Noize, Bloc Party, the Whitest Boy Alive, Hot Chip, and many others. So it should come as no surprise that Spain's Crystal Fighters, a folktronic band that cleverly combines Basque folk instruments with drum loops, heavy synths, lilting vocals, and a rocking stage show happily joined their ranks in 2008. Only it took me just a few days ago to find out who they were and to have their sound completely envelop me, thanks to a random video on vimeo featuring their track At Home. Better late than never they say and in this case im thankful. enjoy the folktronic sounds of Crystal Fighters.

MOOMBAHTON

"Moombahton is mid-tempo global bass music for the universe. It's a sonic marriage of electronic dance music (house, techno, and dubstep) with latin/island music (reggeaton, cumbia, and dancehall) that flows at a pace of about 108 beats per minute. Originally, moombahton started by Dave Nada slowing down tropical and dutch house records and re-edited them to sound like reggaeton's weird little cousin. Because the tempo nears that of reggaeton, Nada created the neologism "Moombahton" by combining the title of the track "Moombah" by DJ Chuckie & Silva Cuomo and the "ton" ending of the word "reggaeton" and applied it to the new genre. Moombahton continues to grow worldwide as producers and DJ's push the music in exciting new ways."

Trizzy's Got Ray-Ban Vision

For the upcoming release of Fool's Gold Vol. 1 compilation, A-Trak enlisted G.O.O.D. Music's protege, CyHi Da Prynce to help lay down a flow over his hip-hop banger straight for you and your subwoofers. Trizzy never ceases to disappoint and this track is no exception. It's a little departure from his usually dance floor jams but this hip-hop banger bangs. Bump it. And mark your calendar on October 25th when the 14 track Fools Gold compilation officially drops.

Banksy x The Simpsons Opening Sequence

Long day/night of work yesterday and up way too early this morning to come up with some neat, witty things to say so im just going to quote tho watch the video on youtube in HD of course ;)
"The Simpsons has always been subversive, but last night, the animated show took that to a new level by airing a dark, extended opening title sequence—created by UK graffiti artist Banksy—that depicted Asian workers laboring over Simpsons animation and merchandise. The effect was rather stark and piercing: The first few 35 seconds of the sequence feature the near-usual credits, except for a few “Banksy” tags on prominent Springfield buildings, before rather unexpectedly veering into a depressing tour of overseas sweatshop facilities, where legions of workers slave over Simpsons animation stills (see: photo here!), kill kittens to stuff Bart Simpson dolls, and even use a chained unicorn to punch out the center of Simpsons DVDs."
"Apparently, the title sequence was a reaction to reports that the show outsources much of its animation to a company in South Korea. The BBC is reporting that the controversial credits caused delays behind the scenes because of disputes over broadcast standards and a threatened walk-out by the show’s animation department. The news organization even quoted Simpsons executive producer Al Jean as saying: “This is what you get when you outsource.” "

ooooh Banksy how i love thee.

Uffie Doesn't Want You To Worry (Video)

Uffie - Difficult
Uploaded by Uffie.

This right here is the brand spankin' new video for Uffie's single Difficult off her debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. The song which is produced by SebastiAn, my favorite Ed Banger banger and this beat is so yum. the video is directed by these three frenchman, AB/CD/CD. Her debut album has long been in the works and been pushed back and back as she was finding herself, her sound, as well as taking time off to do the child birth thing. It has been quite some time since her first single Pop the Glock dropped which crowned her the queen of the electro-pop scene. Some might say its too late for her to get back on top with all these newbies coming outa the woodwork and Keisha straight up jacking her stylee but don't underestimate Uffie and the Ed Banger crew, dudes pwn and after all Uffie is like that hot chic that you can't even touch. Swagger'd

We Don't Sleep When the Sun Goes Down

Nights like these call for some progressive-house beats and Adrian Lux's jam Teenage Crime is just that kind of beat. It hit Beatport's Top 10 a few weeks ago but this song could fill the air of any of my nights and i'd be cool with that. The female vocals sound a lot like Lykke Li but im just not sure, what do you say?

Adrian Lux - Teenage Crime by Eastcoastoverdose

Here's the new video for the tune that dropped yesterday. fresh. Enjoys.

Edit: this is the radioedit thats featured in the video. slightly less trancy than above.
